Southern Charm: The Rewrite: sample
Southern Charm:
Emalie Jackobson wanted nothing more than to move to the South to a close knit town where people hung out by the river and had bonfires. Considering her mom is from a close knit, southern town, it shouldn't be a problem. But she swore she'd never go back after feeling the humiliation of rejection years ago, so Emalie's dream is not to be fulfilled. She's devastated when her mother dies in a car crash, and shocked to learn that she held onto the estate in Dyersburg, Tennessee where she grew up and her last wish was for Emalie to move to Dyersburg. So Emalie and her dad pack up their city life and head down to Dyersburg, where Emalie meets her mother's childhood friend and his son, the hot, bad-cowboy Drew Mason. He's cocky, arrogant and irritating, but he has the thing Emalie has always looked for-- southern charm. Will Emalie fall for Drew, or will the southern charm not be enough to look past his irritating ways? And why did Emalie's mother leave in the first place? **Summary Subject To Change** |

Time to welcome back your favorite trio!
I'm back! Plus: Sneak Peek!
I'm back! Yup, vacation time over! Okay, so it wasn't nessisarily a 'vacation' per say. It was more of a 'I'm lazy and don't wanna write 'till I absolutly have to since I'm bummed about Christmas being over.' type thing, and I still updated Cougar and the K-Unit, so I wasn't really gone.
Now for the Sneak Peek part of this entry of some sort.
BTW: This is for my Krystal Rock account, but I would really love it if my loyal fans from fanfiction could also!
I've been writing a new story this week and I swear I won't discountinue it. I swear! I read a story called, All's Dare in Love and Soccer by a lovely writer who goes by the name deadheart115 and I couldn't help myself. I was a soccer player for like eight years of my life and absoluly loved it, so you can see my interest when I saw this story, read it, then got depressed since it was over, so I decided to make a new story kinda-sorta based off this!
Here's a little Sneak Peek of Thou Shall Not Kill:
Thou shall not kill.
Personally, I think there should be some sort of exception, especially with Caliber since he totally ignored me. Ugh! I loath him. My signal -the 'I'm open so pass the ball to me already, jerk wad' signal- was totally clear, yet he decided to steal my glory -yes, my glory- me and shot the ball into the net.
So, of course, as of now everyone on our side was hootering and hollering to the point my ears felt like the brains were spewing out of them, which, for your information, is not a pleasant feeling.
I sent daggers towards him at the front of the goal post and even though he was sweating buckets, he smirked at me. Yes, smirked. At me! The nerve of some people!
I continued to send daggers towards him as the ref placed the ball In the middle of the field. But stopped as I noticed when he came up to stand beside me he looked like he got some sort of new determination writing on his face.
The ref blew his whistle and I kicked the ball towards him. He brought out his foot and kicked, sending the ball to Griffin, who was waiting for it and passed it to mini-Caliber, who's real name was Grady, but, word of advice, don't call him that if you value your life in any way. He prefers to be called by a shortened version of his last name, Fitzgerald.
I, pathetically, ran towards number 18, who was OMG huge, to try and block him, since I noticed people tended to pass the ball towards him more often. I swear his arms were the size of some overgrown python and he looked like he should be the tackler for some football squad, and I for one didn't want to be in his way when he started running after the ball. I could just imagine the cleat marks on my thighs, or, even worse, my face. I involuntarily shivered and Python, which I swear is his nickname, snickered behind me.
“Cold, princess?” he asked.
I felt the sudden urge to throw my foot backwards and see who was snickering then, but this urge was cut short by the look Coach gave me. He knew full well that I'd do it and that's why he was giving me the evil eye. So, instead, I muttered a few curse words at Python, who scoffed, possibly thinking I shouldn't know those words.
I nearly smirked, but remembered to keep my eye on the ball. It was flying through the air towards me. Immediately, my soccer butt-kicking instincts kicked in and I moved up to meet the ball head on. As the ball hit against my skull with a muffled thump-like sound I jumped, letting my feet lift off the ground for a split second. It almost felt like it was in slow-mo, but the feeling immediately went spew as Caliber -darn him!- dribbled the ball down the field, Griffin tailing him.
I love those movies where the action-filled part is in slow-mo, then as soon as the ball hits the net, safely away from the goalie it speeds up to watch the players on the opposing team do that squatting on their knees thing and yell out 'Nooo!' into the air. But, Caliber ruined my moment...again! Ugh!
I came to a conclusion many years ago: He hates me. Quite frankly, I'm fine with this, but I really don't enjoy him torturing me over my favorite -actually, only- sport.
A/N: This is only a sneak peek, so watch out for the full story on my Krystal Rock account in late summer!
Oh, before I forget, here's the summary!:
Skye and Drew have been in a rivalry that would make Satan proud for god knows how long, but when the captain of their beloved soccer team gets a concussion they have to share the Captain title. As the championship game approaches will they be able to work it out, or drag the team under with them? Insults and romance -may- intail.

Have a very wonderful holiday season!

Updates and The End
If those of you don't know yet, I have officially finished my The Wedding Planner story! It's a bitter-sweet
moment though, since I loved that story, but I will start working on the next epic story/book after Christmas
and will post the Prologue when I finish the Presidential Party Crasher story.
I have been neglecting the updating, but, alas, there are so many books on fanfiction to read and I can't stop
till I finish one! So, that's why I didn't update Presidential Party Crasher on the fifteenth (yesterday), although
I also had Spanish and German, so I was busy as well.

Blogging
I have been totally forgetting to blog, so i just updated the 'My Blog' section! Check it out!
Mrs. Nancy Hardy
In my little world of writing, we would call this a 'hallajeuh!' moment. Nancy Drew has now forever comiited herself to Frank Hardy. They have said vows, repeated everything, and kissed. It's offical everyone! My dream for Nancy Drew just became a reality, hypothetically speaking of course!
Short Notice
I changed the look of the About Me! page since I'm in the holiday season. =D
The background symbolizes candy canes, which are a close second on my favorita candy list, below chocolate of course.
The writing colors symbolize, well, Christmas in general.
By the way, no, I will not keep up these crazy colors in my updates to this site. I'm just havin' fun making the colors match the subject.
Have a wonderful holiday season!
Yours truly,
Meg

Prologue of The Life of a Special Agent
In case you haven't checked out my blog with the writing updates on it I'll give you the summary first.
Sasha Blane always dreamed of going into law enforcement ever since she was a little girl. Her father, a retired Chief, taught her everything she knows, but when she goes to an interview for the local police force and gets put down just beacause she's a woman she goes out into the federal world to show everyone out there girls can do anything boys can,...only better.
Okay, so now for the Prologue! Oh, by the way, I will also post this on my Krystal Rock fictionpress account.
Hello, my name is Sasha Blane. It's been my dream ever since I was little to go into law enforcement. Although, I always thought I'd be a detective for my sleepy town's local police force, never a federal agent, until my meeting with Chief McKinley that is.
I walked into his office; the walls were a light brown color and the dark brown specks in the wall looked quite good with the dark brown desk in the middle of the room that he was sitting in, it was, almost, home-y. He sat in his cheap black swivel chair. I knew everyone respected him, even though he was the youngest Chief in Holloe's history, but I was about to laugh out loud from the way he looked in the chair that, quite frankly, was way to small for him.
"Hello Miss Blane" he said. "Please. Sit down."
I did, although I think the chair may have been a little to small for me as well.
"I looked over your resume and I must say that it's impressive"
I smiled, thinking he was praising me.
"But"
I sighed, thinking, Oh, great!.
"I must decline"
I tried my best to keep my business face on, but inside I was cracking.
"If I may ask something" I said.
"of course" he replied.
"why?"
"I know your father is aging quickly and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something happed to him and you weren't there"
I cringed inwardly. Ever since my Mom left us people expected me to always be at home, even though my father, retired Chief of Police, was only sixty. He knew this was my dream and told me to go for it, but jeez! Mr. I'm The Boss has to ruin it for me just because of my 'duties'.
"He's only sixty" I replied bravely. "He respects my dreams and this is my dream."
"Well, then go and make some kid detective agency" he replied hotly.
"what's that suppose to mean?" I asked in the same tone he was using with me.
"The only way your going to get a case from me is if you take it"
That got me thinking. 'take it' from him? That sounds like fun. I just need to find out how...
A sly smile crept across my face as a plan started to form inside my head and I replied, "See you then".

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate and Little Women11/23/11
So, a couple years ago my mother bought a book for her to read to me and my siblngs, but we never actually read past the first chapter; I found this book on my bookshelf the other day and began to read. This book is called The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly. I decided that since I enjoyed this book so, so, much that I'd write a review on it, and no, It's not just because I need to write an essay for school and consider these reviews 'essays'.
I will try to have the book review up by next weekend.
I found a big book on the shelf in my closet of heirlooms from my mother's childhood and found a copy of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott that I am trying my hardest to read. Then maybe I'll do another book review on Little Women.
Till later,
Meg

New Ideas! 11/21/11
Have you ever read stories where the main character is someone with an advice colomn? Well, I really really wanted to have one and luckily I have a site! So, I posted this advice colomn under the name 'Ask Meg!'. Good thing my name and Ask sound good together! =D
Another new idea that's been swirling around the weird mind of mine is a Book Review page where you can tell me cool books to read/review. I enjoy reading the newest books, and reviewing them, so why not put two and two together and then let the world see it? Let me know what you think of both these ideas by filling out the form. |

Cool sites! 11/21/11
I found a cool site, visit it at: http://www.satisfaction.com.
There are word generators so you can make them glittery, note generators, so that lady bugs can crawl over the animated piece of paper, graphics, facebook apps, and even more!
I also found another cool site called: http://www.orkutstyle.com/
You can copy/paste glitter graphics, make animated banners, glitter any picture, and way, way more.
BTW: This is the site I use for all the graphics, like the butterfly one at the top of this page, the Ask Meg! crown, and the one's I'll use for the book rating system I'm coming up with.
Just wanted to share this with you.
xoxo,
Meg
